The Man of Steel or the God of Thunder, who will be the last man standing? Now, this right here is one of the most highly debated topics in all of comics. It’s a debate that has been going on for decades and will surely go for decades more.
Superman VS Thor – Fight Till Death
Everyone has different opinions and I will try and back my answers with as many facts as possible.
You might argue with the crossovers, but we all know that the crossovers aren’t canon but its likely that DC and Marvel decided before that Superman Would have to win just because he is more popular.
Walking into the earth as an infant from the doomed planet Krypton, Kal-El was adopted by the Kent family and raised in America as Clark Kent. Using his immense solar fueled power, he became superman, defend mankind against all manner of threats, while encouraging truth and justice in the American way. He is incredibly strong and arguably one of the most powerful DC characters to ever exist.
Thor is called the Asgardian God of Thunder. He is the son of all-father of Asgard, Odin, and the goddess of elder earth, Gaea. With a combination of powers from both worlds, Thor is arguably the greatest and mightiest warrior of both. With his powerful and enchanted hammer Mjǫllnir, Thor is the mightiest hero of Asgard, a founding member of the Avengers and one of the most powerful beings on earth.
The Death Match
Thor and Superman are both equal in terms of strength. People like to say that Superman is stronger, but Thor has easily destroyed planets with his blows. He also lifted the Midgard Serpents, which weigh more than the earth. They both are equal in terms of durability as well.
The only thing is Superman is faster than Thor. But the question is how much faster?
Clarke can go faster than the speed of light. But he usually doesn’t use the speed that is Thor has seen before. For instance, Superman isn’t faster than Silver Surfer, Hyperion, Sentry, and Gladiator and Thor has fought all of them before. So, while Superman is faster than Thor, it isn’t going to be a deciding factor.
As the fight goes on, Clarke will start to use his speed and will get a lot of hits on thor. However, Thor has a lot of things to counter that for him. First, is his superior striking power. He is got one of the most powerful weapons in the world. While they both are equal in strength, Thor can better channel that strength through Mjǫllnir and deliver a stronger blow.
Thor also has energy attacks, God-Blast which can affect a large area on the battlefield and Superman can never dodge all of them. Also, most people don’t know that Thor is able to manipulate matter. He has turned the ground into helium and a pyramid into a forest.
On top of that, All of Thor’s powers are magical based, and just like with Wonder Woman, Superman is vulnerable to magic just like any other mortal.
You might be saying, what about Clark’s heat vision or freeze breath?
Well, that freeze breath will do nothing against someone who has outstood the casket of ancient winters. Then With his heat vision, Thor has survived inside the sun and Mjǫllnir can absorb that heat vision.
Now, thor is an excellent warrior and has tons of experience over superman. But his greatest weakness is that he does try and fight warrior to warrior or fist to fists most of the time. This will allow Clark to deal more damage but Thor will eventually realize what it takes to put Superman down.
So, can Superman Win?
Yes, most definitely! But so can Thor.
Superman will most likely deal more damage, but Thor has been into fights that lasted weeks and he has more versatility than Superman. And if he uses them to his potential, Thor wins.
This is the most debated battle in the history of comics. In my opinion, Thor, the God of Thunder will take the victory. What do you think of this fight? Who will win? Let’s hear your opinion.
